Apple has rolled out a new Software Update for owners of a new-generation MacBook Air, addressing an issue where some systems would experience sleep problems when the user would try to put the computer to sleep.

As many users will agree, Apple’s MacBook Air has been prone to experiencing visual issues since day one.

Shortly after the launch of its new laptop computers, Apple started receiving complaints, with most of the affected customers signaling screen flickering issues.

Apple soon acknowledged the flaw and promised to deploy a software update to alleviate the problems.

The patch was included in the Mac OS X 10.6.5 system-wide software update for Snow Leopard.

Apple failed to document this fix in the official release notes for OS X 10.6.5, but did confirm its inclusion via a Support document posted to the Apple.com.

On the Support area of its web site, Apple now reveals that an additional MacBook Air (Late 2010) Software Update 2.0 is needed to fix another issue typical to the laptop.
