Company rolls out EFI firmware update to address graphics bug on late-2008 computers

Apple has released a new EFI firmware update for owners of late-2008 MacBook Pros with 15-inch screens. The patch aims to fix graphics glitches, according to the release notes.

MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.8 is recommended for MacBook Pro (15-inch, late 2008) models as “[it] resolves a graphics issue that may cause the internal display to flicker.”

Rolled out yesterday via Software Update and Apple Downloads, the 1.8 MB installer is to be applied to systems running Mac OS X v10.5.8 (Leopard), Mac OS X v10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), and OS X v10.7.3 (Lion).
