It looks like Apple will be making a big deal out of the new Special Edition RED iPod. Not only is the new iPod on the front page of Apple's site, but Apple is also showing off its red colors in the stores.

The Apple logo that hangs in the middle of the glass cube entrance to the Fifth Avenue retail store
that normally glows white has begun glowing red. At the time this started, store employees had no idea why this was happening, and the inside of the store showed no hint of anything forthcoming. Now that Apple has officially unveiled the product it looks like the Fifth Avenue store might be part of a big launch for the new iPod.

The new Pod nano (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition is a 4GB nano that comes in a special beautiful red aluminum enclosure. Other than the color it has all the same specifications as the other nanos, with the distinction that Apple will contribute $10 from the sale of each iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED to the Global Fund to help fight HIV/AIDS in Africa. The new RED iPod is available now From the Online Apple Store.
