The Apple Store remains offline amidst iPhone 6 pre-orders

So yes, it looks like iPhone 6 pre-orders are a much bigger fail than Apple’s keynote livestream. Even though the company announced it would kick off iPhone 6 pre-orders today, September 12, at 12pm PDT, the Apple Store remained offline for a few hours after that hour.

While some people decided to test their keyboards’ ruggedness while refreshing the browser, some opted for another method, like pre-ordering the new device through their iPhone or iPad.

Even though many have been able to go through with their pre-orders using their iPhones, there were many more who were too late to the party in the first few hours.

In some countries, the App Store went live, but in the United States, where people had to wait until 3am to place their pre-orders, the website did not work and the only way to reserve the iPhone 6 was through the mobile app.

Obviously, disgruntled customers have taken to Twitter to show their frustration over Apple’s way of handling the iPhone 6 pre-orders process.

This is the second time this week that Apple fails to deliver a major service to their customers. As a tech company, this doesn’t bode well for the Cupertino-based giant.

Hey Apple, where is my iPhone 6 pre-order?

Although the Apple Store did crash a few times in the past when products were on pre-order, this is the first time the company misses the deadline.

While some customers probably expected the Apple Store to have some issues given the high number of people wanting to pre-order the iPhone 6 and trying to access it at the same time, we don’t think anyone expected a fail of such magnitude.

Currently, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available for pre-order in the United States, UK and several other countries. In the US, both smartphones can be pre-purchased through any of the four major carriers: AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

The phone comes in two different sizes: 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. The smaller iPhone 6 is available for just $199 (€154) for the 16GB version, $299 (€230) for the 64GB model and $399 (€310) for the 128GB iPhone 6.

The iPhone 6 Plus is available in three variants as well: 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. They are available for $299 (€230), $399 (€310) and $499 (€385), respectively. Obviously, you’ll have to commit to a new 2-year plan in order to benefit from these prices.

So, did you manage to pre-order the iPhone 6 or you’re one of those affected by Apple’s big fail? Check out below some of the gags coming from people who took to social networks to express their frustration over the iPhone 6 pre-orders thingy.
