Apple is extending the complimentary MobileMe-to-iCloud storage at no extra charge until September 2013, according to an email sent to customers from the Cupertino, California-based computer giant.

When MobileMe users switched to iCloud, Apple provided customers with a complimentary storage upgrade that exceeded the standard amount that comes with an iCloud account. On top of the default 5GB, customers either got an extra 10GB, 20GB, or 50GB, depending on their previous plan.

In an email sent to customers this week, Apple informs that “Originally, this storage upgrade was set to expire on September 30, 2012.”

Now, the company wishes to continue to provide customers with this complementary storage at no extra charge, for an additional year, as a thank you to its former MobileMe members. “No action is required on your part. For complete details, please read this article,” says Apple.
