Apple Enhances 5GHz Wi-Fi with iMac EFI Update 2.0

Apple has released iMac EFI Update 2.0 which delivers improvements to the sleep function of Late 2012 models. The update also benefits Thunderbolt and wireless connections.

iMac EFI Update 2.0 is required for all iMac (late 2012) models as it contains “general performance fixes pertaining to sleep and Thunderbolt, and improves compatibility when using the 5GHz band in Wi-Fi,” Apple says.

After the update is complete, customers will need to have the build version 010A.05 and the ROM version IM131.88Z.010A.B05.1211151146, according to the Cupertino giant.

System requirements include OS X 10.8.1 Mountain Lion (and newer), and EFI version 010A. Supported languages include Magyar, Čeština, Deutsch, English, Français, 日本語, Español, Italiano, Nederlands, Dansk, Norsk Bokmål, Polski, Português, Português Brasileiro, Pусский, Suomi, Svensk, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
