Apple Employee Discounts Kick In After Pay Spike

After raising retail staffers’ wages by as much as 25 percent for some (based on performance), Apple announced this year’s discount for employees (all, not just in retail), which shaves off as much as $500 / €400 off select Macintosh and iPad configurations.

Beginning this week, Apple staffers can purchase a Mac for $500 less than the original shelf price. iPads are discounted by $250 / €200 – basically half the price of the base model with WiFi and 16GB of flash storage.

Some Macs don’t apply (mainly because they’re either too cheap or too expensive). Those include the Mac mini and the Retina display MacBook Pro. To be clear: these two computer models aren’t discounted.

This deduction can be combined with all employees’ standard 25 percent discount. Those who’ve just passed the 90-day probation period will be happy to learn that they can take advantage of the offer, but they’ll only be able to take another stab at it three years from now.
