Apple Details iAd Tester

According to a support document issued by Apple this week, developers looking to deploy rich, interactive advertisements known as iAds should use a tool called iAd Tester to… well, test them out and see how they display.

As part of the iAd Producer suite, “iAd Tester makes it easy for you to view and test iAd content on your iPhone or iPad during design and production, allowing you and your clients to experience the iAd in a real-world setting,” Apple explains.

Developers can test iAd content over local networks or USB, as well as via Apple's test servers over the carrier network.

The Cupertino company mentions key features such as: on-device testing of iAd content; easy pairing with iAd Producer for security; and realistic network connections for performance analysis.
