It has come to light that Tim Cook told an investor that Apple’s “spaceship” Campus 2 is going to be delayed. The confirmation reportedly took place during a recent shareholder meeting.

The LA Times quotes the Apple CEO as saying, “It is taking a little longer” in response to a question from a shareholder.

Cook didn’t cite any particular reasons as to why the construction is being delayed. When the late Steve Jobs initially pitched the project to the City of Cupertino (before it got its approval), the iconic visionary genius had promised completion by the end of 2015.

According to Cook’s recent comments, however, construction on the Apple Campus 2 will not be complete until 2016.

He reportedly added that Apple was “continuing to fine-tune its plans,” according to LA’s newspaper, adding that the company is keeping a razor-sharp focus on the details of the construction.

“We think this will be the most collaborative environment anywhere,” Cook said.
