Probably the lowest Apple has gone on a MacBook yet

Just before the holidays, Apple is offering up Macs priced below the $900 mark, something that should attract fans of the company’s hardware and operating system. Whether you’re planning on buying a Mac for yourself, or as a gift to someone, and don’t have money to spare, Apple’s Special Deals area is worth giving a look at.

Refurbished MacBook 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - White Priced at $749.00 (the lowest we’ve seen so far), the White, polycarbonate 13-inch MacBook should make a perfect gift to anyone enjoying computing on the go. For this price, Apple is offering up a pretty sweet configuration too, with 2GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics. Owners can always upgrade the system’s RAM, hard drive and even swap the old battery for a new one. The processor is a 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

To be noted that Apple’s latest MacBook model, priced at $999 (brand new), offers the same amount of memory, and a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, which doesn’t make that much big of a difference, if you’re not a power user. Admittedly, the new system does ship with a 250GB hard drive. However, the Refurbished MacBook 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (White) is the last model sporting the more sharp-edged design.

Refurbished iMac 20-inch 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Next up, the previous-generation, all-in-one Apple iMac can now be acquired for as low as $849. The system boasts a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB (two 1GB SO-DIMMs) of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM (supports up to 8GB), a 320GB Serial ATA(7200 rpm) hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics with 256MB of memory. It has a 20-inch, glossy widescreen display and a built-in iSight camera, and ships with a wired Apple mouse and keyboard.

Refurbished MacBook 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - Aluminum Finally, for those who still can’t afford crossing the line of $900, yet are more fond of metal enclosures, Apple is offering a refurbished MacBook 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - Aluminum for just $899. To be noted that this is a species going extinct as we speak. Soon after introducing the unibody aluminum MacBooks, the company decided to make them all Pros. Now, even the 13.3-inch model is a Pro-level laptop, making this refurb the last of its kind, just like the White MacBook.

For the $899 you spend on this pre-owned system, you get a 13.3-inch, 1280-by-800-pixel LED-backlit display, 2GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive, 8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW), a 160GB Serial ATA HDD at 5400 rpm, an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory, and a built-in iSight camera.

So, these are the latest deals coming out of Cupertino and, may we say, they’re the sweetest we’ve seen in quite a while. Hurry up and make your choice, if you were already planning to make an Apple purchase, as these offers generally don’t last long.
