Apple has announced that iPhone 4 is launching to the Chinese market this Saturday, September 25 at 8:00 a.m. at its Hong Kong Plaza store in Shanghai, and at the new Apple Store Xidan Joy City in Beijing, which opens on the same day.

Apple also said that iPhone 4 will be available on September 25 at China Unicom stores for qualified buyers with a new two year contract.

“Customers who buy their iPhone 4 at an Apple Retail Store will receive free Personal Setup service, helping them customize their new iPhone by setting up their email, loading their favorite apps from the App Store, and other tips to get up and running before they leave the store,” Apple said.

“In addition, Apple Retail Stores will host special workshops throughout the day to help customers learn more about iPhone 4.”

The Cupertino, California electronics giant adds that its retail stores are “staffed by a highly trained team of passionate employees who deliver innovative services like these, plus free technical support at the Genius Bar.”

In usual manner, the official announcement includes information on the handset itself, with Apple noting that iPhone 4 brings a the flagship FaceTime functionality, “which makes the dream of video calling a reality,” as well as the new Retina display, which boasts the highest resolution ever seen on a phone, according to its makers.

As Apple fans should already know, the device also comes with a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, capable of HD video recording.

Other key features include the Apple A4 processor, the 3-axis gyroscope, a more powerful battery and, of course, the all-new glass & stainless steel design.

Apple claims iPhone 4 is also the thinnest smartphone in the world, currently.

Last, but not least, iPhone 4 ships with the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 4, which delivers over 100 new features built on top of everything Apple achieved up to iOS 3.0.

“iPhone 4 will be sold in China through Apple’s retail stores for a suggested retail price of CNY4,999 for the 16GB model and CNY5,999 for 32GB model without a contract,” Apple clarifies for those looking to buy the smartphone on launch day.

“At China Unicom stores, iPhone 4 will be available for qualified buyers with a new two year contract, sold separately,” Apple outlines.
