Apple has released the much-hyped invitations to its October 23 event focused on the launch of the iPad mini. Or so we believe, along with every analyst and pundit on the planet.

Contrary to what the rumors said, the event will not be held at Apple’s Town Hall auditorium, but rather in San Jose’s California Theatre. The festivities are to kick off at 10 a.m. PST.

The wording on Apple’s typically-colorful invitations bears a strong indication that the event is focused on the launch of the iPad mini – “We’ve got a little more to show you.” Only a quarter of the Apple logo is shown. Thank goodness for that leaf, some imaginative artists would say.

However, the Cupertino giant is also known to be planning a Macintosh refresh which will also be unveiled at this media gathering, various sources have said.
