Apple has scheduled the launch of iCloud for October 12, next week, the same day iOS 5 will be released to all owners of iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads.

Described as a breakthrough set of free cloud services, iCloud comes with the following features: iTunes in the Cloud (with  iTunes Match), Photo Stream, Documents in the Cloud, Find My Friends, iCloud Backup.

All these services work seamlessly with your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC to automatically store your content in iCloud and push it to all your devices, wirelessly.

iCloud stores everything from music, photos, and apps, to contacts, calendars, and documents, as well as other types of files.

It keeps them up to date across all your devices - when content changes on one device, all others are updated automatically. The service, replacing MobileMe, will be available on October 12.
