In announcing the winner of its 25 billion downloads competition, Apple also confirmed some new figures today, regarding the iDevice install-base, and the sheer number of apps available on iTunes.

Apple issued a press release today announcing that “more than 25 billion apps have been downloaded from its revolutionary App Store by the users of the more than 315 million iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices worldwide.”

Not only that, but there are currently 550,000 apps currently available on the App Store for all three devices. Only a few months ago, Apple’s popular download center was just reaching 500,000 titles.

More than 170,000 apps are specially crafted for Apple’s popular tablet computers. And all these apps are available to 123 countries around the world, Apple confirmed today.
