Apple Co-Founding Papers Go on Auction Next Month

The documents that attest how April 1, 1976 saw Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne get together to found Apple Computer Co. is going on auction at Sotheby’s in New York.

The agreement papers, making the rounds in pictures across the entire Apple blogosphere today, are expected to fetch between $100,000 to $150,000 (US) at Sotheby’s December 13 books and manuscripts sale.

The three-page draft that established Apple Computer Co. over 3 decades ago features the highly visible signature of a rebel “steven p. jobs” who refused to jot down his name using capital letters.

Commenting on the upcoming auction, Richard Austin, the head of books and manuscripts at Sotheby’s in New York, remarked: “This is a foundation document in terms of financial history, social history and technological history.”
