Apple CEO Tim Cook May Once Again Reorganize His Troops This Summer [WSJ]

A recent story ran by the Wall Street Journal sheds some new light on how things are going at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA, after the widely reported executive shakeup in 2012.

Among the topics touched by the WSJ was the fact that Craig Federighi, senior vice president of Software Engineering at Apple, “has indicated to some employees that he plans to keep the Mac and iOS engineering teams separate for now.”

One of these employees told the paper that, despite overlapping on a number of projects (such as calendar software), the people working on iOS and OS X are in separate camps.

Following Tim Cook’s decision to regroup his executive teams last year, software engineers reportedly pondered whether the two teams would be combined, as Federighi had been assigned to lead both.

But we’re yet to cite the most interesting tidbit from WSJ’s report. According to one of the sources, “some employees are expecting further reorganization of the two groups this summer.”
