Apple is actively involved in helping Japan in any way it can following the tragic events occurring in the Land of the Rising Sun on March 11.

The most recent activity involves Apple’s HR department which has been ordered to help Apple Japan staff members in any way that it can to help relief their pain.

Chief Executive Officer, Steve Jobs himself issued an internal letter informing Apple Japan of the temporary policy.

Obtained by multiple Mac-centric blogs, the letter in question is reproduced below in its entirety, courtesy of MacRumors.

To Our Team in Japan,

We have all been following the unfolding disaster in Japan. Our hearts go out to you and your families, as well as all of your countrymen who have been touched by this tragedy.

If you need time or resources to visit or care for your families, please see HR and we will help you. If you are aware of any supplies that are needed, please also tell HR and we will do what we can to arrange delivery.

Again, our hearts go out to you during this unimaginable crisis. Please stay safe. Steve and the entire Executive Team

In the aftermath of the March 11 earthquake, Apple’s Japanese retail stores became safe heavens for locals, who gathered inside the establishments to stay warm and use the Internet to communicate with their loved ones.

Store staffers were told to book hotel rooms, or use taxi cabs for transportation, if needed, with the promise that Apple would cover all the costs.

Apple also delayed the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan in order to focus on the relief efforts.

The Mac maker even set up Red Cross donations through iTunes, encouraging fans to donate a small amount in order to enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to earthquake victims.
