This year, Apple took home several awards for its devices. The British Technology Awards 2008 alone put Apple and its iPhone at the top spot in four major categories, while the iPod touch was named “Gadget of the Year” by the T3 Technology Magazine.
The British Technology Awards 2008 also featured a Gadget of the Year endurance test, which the iPhone passed with flying colors. Awards for Best Mobile Technology, Most Stylish Technology and Technological Innovation of the Year also found the iPhone as their rightful owner. Not surprisingly, Apple's venue for music, TV shows and applications won for the “Best Music Technology” category. “Congratulations to all those companies whose products have won an award and thank you to everyone that took the time to vote,” said the folks at BTA.
T3 Technology Magazine's awards were dominated by Apple, the company winning as many as four top prizes, with the iPod touch being named “Gadget of the Year.”
“The iPod wasn’t the first MP3 player, but it was, and is, by far the best. The iPhone clearly wasn’t the first smartphone, but it was the first one that every man, his dog and his dog’s ticks would sell limbs to own,” T3 said. The mag named Apple's iPhone the Best Commuter Gadget, the iPod touch 32GB won the award for the best music gadget, while Apple's still-elusive MacBook Air won the title of Gadget Candy.
