iOS developer IZE Ltd. has re-submitted its iOS app to finally see it approved after two rejections on behalf of the Cupertino, California giant.

Find My Facebook Friends does what its name implies - it finds your Facebook buds, shows you their location on a map, and notifies you when they’re close by so you can tap them on the shoulder.

The app had previously been turned down by Apple for exhibiting too many similarities with Apple’s own Find My Friends application, which also puts your buddies on a map.

It was previously called "Find My Friends for Facebook," and it bore an almost identical icon to Apple’s.

After two attempts to have it included in the App Store, IZE finally got Apple’s approval with the “Find My Facebook Friends” dubbing and an icon that features a person under a magnifying glass.

The app’s description says “[it] allows you to easily locate your friends and family from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.”

“Install this app on your iOS 4.0 or later device and sign in with your Facebook account. Invite your friends from Facebook to use this app by sending them an app request,” says IZE. “Once your friends install Find My Facebook Friends app on their device, you will then be able to see their location on a list or on a map.”

You can choose whether or not to share your location, as well as pick certain people who can see where you’re at (such as Acquaintances, Close Friends, Family, etc.).

IZE offers some tips, saying “Use Find My Facebook Friends to keep track of your traveling companions when you’re on vacation. Or to see if the kids are home from school. Or to find the friends you’re meeting for dinner.”

The software integrates with the native Facebook app to send messages, it’s cross-platform, and it runs in the background when you launch another app.
