14 DAY TRIAL // Windows Phone 7 Connector, an application used to browse and sync files on a Windows Phone 7 or Zune HD with a Mac, is now available as a free download through Apple’s Mac App Store.
Recently approved by Apple in its new Mac App Store, “Windows Phone 7 Connector is a simple, easy-to-use application designed to sync your favorite media files from your Mac, with your Windows Phone 7 or Zune HD,” the description reads.
Using the app, Mac owners can also sync photos and videos captured on their phone with their Mac.
When needed, the tool can aid users in updating their Windows Phone 7 software.
Just like with Apple devices, the Windows phone needs to be connected to the original computer the media came from in order to delete files.
Microsoft makes it clear in the Windows Phone 7 Connector (for Mac) Help Documentation that when you sync media files from your Mac with your Windows Phone 7, hard drive space on your phone decreases.
“If you are tired of listening to a certain song or no longer want to view a photo that is out of date, you can delete the media file from your phone. This increases hard drive space on your phone so you can add different media,” the company explains.
Also, only unprotected (non DRM) files are supported for syncing music, movies, TV Shows and podcasts, from the existing iTunes library, to Microsoft devices.
The utility is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and 10.6 Snow Leopard. iPhoto '09 or later may also be required for all sync features to be available.
