14 DAY TRIAL // Apple is informing those enrolled with the company’s $99-a-year developer program that an updated version of the iTunes Connect Developer Guide is now available for download. Currently at version 6.3, the document outlines some of the most recent changes made by Apple, including an amendment to its rejection policies.
“Updated iTunes Connect Developer Guide Now Available,” reads an update over at the News and Announcements section of Apple’s Developer web site.
“Version 6.3 of the iTunes Connect Developer Guide is now available. Be sure to review the latest guide to learn about new features and updates in iTunes Connect,” Apple instructs coders.
The iTunes Connect Developer Guide is available for download (PDF) on the homepage of iTunes Connect, according to the Mac maker.
The PDF document states that version 6.3 includes the following changes / changed modules:
■ Promo codes can now be redeemed through any App Store around the world. ■ Apps can now be Developer Rejected when in Pending Apple Release state ■ Game Center changes including multiple Leaderboards, Combined Leaderboards, and removal of Leaderboard Categories ■ Bundle IDs can now be re-used after App Delete if the app does not use iAd and no binary has been delivered
One noteworthy addition is the ability to pull an app when in pending release state.
“If you have created an app in iTunes Connect that you no longer need to see or manage, you can delete it from your iTunes Connect view,” Apple elaborates.
However, developers cannot delete an app that is Ready For Sale. In order to do so, they need to remove their own app from sale before they can click the Delete button.
Developers will only be able to delete their app when it is in one of the following states:
- Prepare for Upload - Waiting for Upload - Invalid Binary - Developer Rejected - Rejected - Developer Removed from Sale - Removed from Sale.
