A new software update that specifically targets Apple’s new iMac line has been released on the Support / Downloads section of Apple.com, as well as via the Software Update mechanism on Intel-based Macs.

Tasked with addressing issues with Japanese and Korean keyboards on Early 2011 iMacs, Boot Camp 3.2 Update for iMac (early 2011) is a free download for anyone looking to run Windows 7 on their Macintosh computer using the built-in utility provided by Apple to wield two operating systems.

Included with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, Boot Camp lets you run compatible versions of Microsoft Windows on an Intel-based Mac.

Boot Camp 3 is a major upgrade over previous versions. It can read Mac volumes, meaning you can open and read files on Mac OS X volumes when booted into Windows.

You can also copy photos, documents and other files from a Mac OS X volume into the Windows partition.

Boot Camp 3 has support for advanced features on Apple Cinema displays.

New options can be found in the Boot Camp control panel. For example, you can tweak them to change the behavior of the power button on an Apple Cinema Display and disable the display's brightness controls.

The improved tap-to-click support enables users to tap the trackpad so that Windows interprets the touch as a mouse click. It is now supported on all Mac portables that run Boot Camp.

A command line version of the Startup Disk Control Panel is also implemented.

Administrators can now change the startup disk selection of a Mac running Windows using Boot Camp through a command line utility.

A shy 638 KB download, Boot Camp 3.2 for iMac can be immediately obtained via the link below.
