Via the News and Announcements section of its iPhone Dev Center, Apple is advising developers working with the iPhone SDKs to keep their iTunes Connect user information up-to-date. There are cases where more than one person will have access to an iTunes Connect account.

To offer an example, the iPhone maker stresses that, when a company’s staff is involved in developing an iPhone application, these people are assigned different roles and permissions within the iTunes Connect module. Therefore, should a person’s status change, their privileges should also change, Apple explains. The original announcement posted on Apple’s iPhone Dev Center has been reproduced. below.

Keep Your iTunes Connect User Information Current

When you assign roles to people on your development team or company in iTunes Connect, you are providing them with access to valuable information. Depending on the role you've assigned them (i.e., Admin, Technical, or Finance), these users can view and manage details about your applications or view your revenue and sales history. So if a member of your development team or company leaves, it’s important to remove or change their access in iTunes Connect. You can make changes to user roles in iTunes Connect at anytime by visiting the Manage Users module and making the appropriate changes.

Developers can learn more about user roles in iTunes Connect by reviewing the Manage Users section of the iTunes Connect Developer Guide. Available as a free download in PDF format, the document is available here.

Last week, Apple used the same News and Announcements section in the iPhone Dev Center to let developers in on some changes regarding the developer forums. According to Apple’s post, the platform had added features to enhance browsing speed, as well as a new rating system for locating relevant posts more easily. To access this resource, one has to be enrolled in Apple’s iPhone Developer Program ($99 a year). Around the same time, it was reported that Apple had started accepting iPad applications developed with the 3.2 version of the iPhone SDK. Full story here.
