Reports are coming in from Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia that Apple has switched on a feature that was previously only available to U.S. customers - TV show purchases.

If you live in one of the three aforementioned territories, the great news is that you’re no longer stuck with having rent-stream your favorite TV shows from iTunes. You can now add them as purchases to your Apple account, though it’s still a streaming affair. Apple hasn’t confirmed it officially yet.

It doesn’t require an Apple TV software update either. The change happened on the iTunes Store where Apple simply flipped on a switch that previously prevented residents of UK, Canada and Oz to purchase their shows outright.

Of course, such news pales in the wake of Apple television rumors that say there’s a good chance Apple’s ‘hobby’ will turn into another industry-changer pretty soon.
