A new knowledge base article has appeared in Apple's Support section, following last week's updates to MobileMe. New additions to the cloud-based service include updates to Contacts, Calendar, Gallery, iDisk, Account, and the login screen, all of which are detailed by Apple as you will find below.

The company begins by pointing out to MobileMe users that the service “has recently been updated with many fixes and improvements.” One of the areas in need of assistance was Contacts. “Searching for contacts in a large address book (more than 1000 contacts) is faster and no longer results in a 'slow script' browser alert message,” Apple says.

“Exported vCards with multi-line addresses or notes can now be imported into the Mac OS X Address Book,” the company adds. Lastly, updates to the web-based service include a new keyboard shortcut for creating a new contact and additional formatting options for European phone numbers.

Calendar adds sorting of To Do items by calendar or title, according to the tech note, while long event titles now appear properly in Month view. The Gallery now sports an updated “Tell a friend” email message, while users will not be bugged by issues related to setting a new album's key photo anymore.

Moving on to iDisk, Apple reveals that “Files and folder names that contain Japanese language characters now display properly on the web.” Account tweaks include better configuring of hosted iWeb pages ending in “.eu”, “.ax,” “.tl,” “.gw,” “.kp,” “.rs,” or “.su.” Family Member accounts now display the accurate renewal/expiration date, Apple adds, also assuring MobileMe users that it has resolved the issues that prevented some members from using an activation key (MobileMe box) to renew a subscription. Login problems occurring with “Keep me logged in for two weeks” have apparently been addressed as well.

The company behind the Mac OS adds that, “For the best MobileMe experience, you should use the latest versions of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (if you use a Mac), MobileMe Control Panel (if you use a PC), and iPhone software (iPhone or iPod touch).” Needless to point out, everything you need is available for free download just below.
