In a Support document posted online today, Apple acknowledges that the Server application in OS X Lion Server may be unable to display Profile Manager settings after updating to version 10.7.3 of the operating system.

The company specifically states that, “Under certain circumstances, Server app may be unable to display Profile Manager settings after updating to Lion Server v10.7.3. Additionally, you may not be able to administer profiles using the web application.”

The Mac maker offers one standard resolution that involves manually editing some lines of code, and a bunch of alternative steps that should also yield a working Server app.

It all revolves around a file located at the following address on every user’s hard drive: /usr/share/devicemgr/backend/app/models/interface_knob_set.rb.

Visit Apple’s support section here to troubleshoot this issue.
