Viewer does not update to show edits applied to an image

Apple is using the Support section of its website to acknowledge the existence of a bug in Aperture 3. The company fails to specify when it is going to patch the issue, but there’s a workaround for now.

Tech-note TS4237 had been viewed just 13 times at the time of this writing, but Apple feels there’s an issue in Aperture 3.2.3 that people need to be aware of.

Particularly, “When you return to Aperture after sending an image to an external editor, the viewer does not update to show the edits applied to the image, although the thumbnail does show the updates.”

Apple specifically states that “This is a known issue in Aperture 3.2.3.” and offers a workaround. Users must resize the viewer window slightly, at which point it will update.

“Applying any adjustment to the image will also cause the viewer to update,” Apple adds.
