14 DAY TRIAL // Apple has been caught cheating. The company’s Web Journal feature in iPhoto apparently copies the icon, as well as the functionality of an existing third-party application for iOS devices.
Apple has seemingly “inspired” itself from the popular collage application Pic Stitch, according to 9to5mac, by using a virtually identical icon design with a few colors swapped here and there.
As the screenshot above shows, the Web Journal icon is indeed strikingly similar to the Pic Stitch icon.
Big Blue Clip’s description on Pic Stitch says you can use the app to “Quickly combine multiple photos into one beautifully framed picture.”
Apple says “Web journals provide a great way to mix images and text to chronicle trips and explain images on the web. You can manually add and arrange images and text in your web journal.”
