Mac OS X can do more for Apple than the iPod or the iPhone!

Mac OS X is an excellent operating system, according to most of its users, but nothing is perfect, and just the same as anything else in life, things can get much better. Of course that when things get better for the end user, things get much better for the producer, and in this situation, it's all about Apple and its strategy for the near future.

The MacBooks and the iPods have been on the market for a while, and although they are getting better and better with each new generation, Apple has a big ace in the pocket. The company's computers sales are taking off because of their ability to run both Mac OS X and Windows, and this is only the beginning...

Did I say "Mac OS X and Windows"? It seems I did, and since I put them one next to the other, I have to tell you there's one difference between them that Apple is working hard to make disappear. While Microsoft has Windows CE, Apple has... Apple has to work, that's the reality, and they are not sleeping!

According to AppleInsider, "People familiar with the strategy tell AppleInsider that the Cupertino, Calif.-based company has been developing an operating system based on the core technologies of Mac OS X for use with embedded devices." This is great news, since early next year we'll see the iPhone, iTV, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see a minimalistic Mac OS X running on the next generation iPods. Obviously, the first device rumored to use the new system is the forthcoming phone, which is expected to ship right on time next quarter. These being said, the only thing that remains is to get some information from Apple, and this will happen most probably at MacWorld, next month, but until then...stay tuned!
