The Love Food Hate Waste organization is struggling to change the rules of our wasteful society, by launching an innovative app, available for iPhone and Android that will teach us how to preserve our resources while saving up to £50 ($78.15/€57.95) every month.

Changes in our behavior are encouraged and expected, since we throw away 7.2 million tonnes of leftovers every year, representing perfectly eatable food.

People are prone to wasting significant amounts of food, especially during holidays. The application provides several tasty recipes that have the power to turn scraps from our Thanksgiving dinner into delicious treats, like a thick lamb sandwich with mint sauce.

The organization launches this great initiative counting on the help of famous Scottish chefs, who have the knowledge and skills to show the public how to obtain amazing dishes following a basic rule: “high taste, low waste.”

The application could turn out to be very useful during your frequent visits to the local grocery store. All you have to do is to consult the meal planner, while keeping an eye on what you put in your shopping cart. Your stomach and your budget will certainly appreciate your efforts of planning ahead.

You will also benefit from the help of a portion planner that will give you an idea of how many ingredients and how much food is actually needed in the process. The free app will make sure that nothing is wasted and everything is reused in your kitchen.
