Mountain View-based Internet giant Google has just announced that its App Inventor for Android project was opened for anyone interested in the building of applications for its mobile operating system.

The project was launched initially in July, and, starting with December 15th, it was made accessible to everybody, Google announced.

With this solution, Android phone users are offered the possibility to come up with software solutions that would fit their needs, while enjoying access to more resources of their devices.

“We were delighted (and honestly a bit overwhelmed!) by the interest that our announcement generated. We were even more delighted to hear the stories of what you were doing with App Inventor,” Google announced via a blog post.

“All sorts of people (teachers and students, parents and kids, programming hobbyists and programming newbies) were building Android apps that perfectly fit their needs.”

Whether it is about coming up with a software solution that would enable a child learn new words, it involves the building of a SMS broadcasting app for community events, the App Inventor for Android supports them all.

Through App Inventor, people will be able to come up with games, tools, entertainment apps, and more. Apps that inform and educate can be easily created via this online resource, Google states.

“We are so impressed with the great things people have done with App Inventor, we want to allow more people the opportunity to do great things. So we’re excited to announce that App Inventor (beta) is now available in Labs to anyone with a Google account,” the company announced.

Those who would like to get started with the App Inventor for Android should head over to Google Labs websites here.

All of the necessary tools and instructions are available there too, so that those accessing the solution would be able to begin building apps for their devices in the shortest period of time possible.
