One of the most popular Android launchers, Apex, has just received a very important update that some users don't seem to like at all.

But first things first. Apex Launcher version 3.0.2 comes with a new feature called “Feeling Lucky,” which is supposed to offer users random app recommendations.

Unfortunately, it also adds an icon to home screen and drawer, along an application with the same name that can't be removed. If you click on the app, it will lead you to random apps in the Google Play Store.

The good news is this feature is not included in the Apex Pro as well, so if you pay for the launcher, then you won't be offered these random apps recommendations.

Here is what one of the long-time Apex Launcher users has to say about the latest update released by developers: “Feel lucky? Been using Apex on all my devices for a couple of years or so, brilliant. Done the job nicely. Now you stick an unwanted & unremovable app in it? Bye bye, you've just been deleted. Remove it and I might consider a re-install.”

The "Feeling Lucky" feature has been removed from the paid app

If you can get past this, then you might want to know that Apex Launcher's latest version features a brand-new Lollipop-style scrolling indicator.

Several tweaks and fixes for Nexus 9 have been introduced as well, along with updated translations and various bug fixes.

Speaking of bug fixes, developers confirmed they have fixed the bug with circle drawer and folder animations, along with the app animation bug on Lollipop. The usage reporting bug has been fixed too.

If you're not bothered by the new “Feeling Lucky” new feature, then you can now download Apex Launcher for Android 3.0.2 for free via Google Play store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0.3 and up.
