Apple has issued a new update for the latest version of its professional photography software, Aperture 3. Aperture SlideShow Support Update 1.1 addresses an issue with HD video playback, as well as syncing issues when the user manages trimmed video clips. Aperture SlideShow Support Update 1.1 is a free download from Apple’s Downloads section, via the automatic Software Update mechanism, as well as Softpedia’s Mac section.
Apple claims that Aperture SlideShow Support Update 1.1 “addresses an issue affecting the playback of HD video clips used in Aperture 3 slideshows on Snow Leopard. Audio and video tracks now remain properly synced in video clips that have been trimmed.” “The update is recommended for all users of Aperture 3,” Apple outlines.
According to Apple’s official announcement in February, there are over 200 new things to be experienced in
Aperture 3. The Mac maker managed to cram the most important additions within a list of key features typical to this new version of the software. As such, top new features in Aperture 3 include: the ability to organize photos by the people in them using Faces; a Places feature, to find photos based on where they were taken; the ability to achieve perfect images with nondestructive, edge-aware brushes; adjustment presets, for applying imaging effects; an ability to browse your entire library with the new, full-screen Browser; and the ability to create stunning multimedia slideshows that weave together HD video, audio tracks, and custom titles, this being one of the features touched by today’s update.
Requirements for Aperture 3 include an Intel Mac running Mac OS X v10.5.8 or v10.6.2 or later, 1GB of RAM (2GB of RAM required for Mac Pro), a DVD drive for installation, 1GB of disk space for application and documentation, and 7GB of disk space for the Sample Library.
