Apple’s professional photography application, Aperture now features Shared Photo Streams to allow iOS users to mirror their picture libraries between their iDevices and Mac.

Aperture 3.4 adds support for Shared Photo Streams but only on OS X Mountain Lion, the latest version of Apple’s Mac operating system. The update, however, applies to systems running Mac OS versions as low as OS X 10.7.5.

That’s because the changes don’t stop at the Shared Photo Streams. There’s also a new File menu command that can be used to open the current photo library in iPhoto. This feature also works in Lion.

The usual performance and stability improvements are included as well, which is why Apple highly recommends that all users download and install the new version straight away. Weighing in at 554.48 MB, Aperture 3.4 is a free update for all Aperture 3 customers.
