Apple releases maintenance update for Aperture users

Apple has issued an update for users of its program designed to assist professional photographers in post-production work known as Aperture. The 2.1.1 update to Aperture supports general compatibility issues, Apple says. The release also improves overall stability and addresses minor issues.

This update supports general compatibility issues, improves overall stability, and addresses a number of other minor issues.

Besides updating to various features of the application and addressing issues related to performance and overall stability, Aperture 2.1.1 also includes fixes that impact a number of other areas, including import, Quick Preview, All Projects view, image adjustments, books, printing, and export.

According to Apple, this download supports Deutsch, English, Fran?ais and Japanese. System Requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later, or Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later. The recommended configuration for using Aperture, according to the makers, is comprised of: a Mac computer with a 2 GHz or faster Intel Core Duo processor, or dual 2 GHz or faster PowerPC G5 processors; 2 GB of RAM; one of the following graphics cards:

- ATI Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition, 9800 XT, 9800 Pro, X1900 XT, or X1600 - NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series or 7800 GT - NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500.

Users will also need to make sure they have at least 5GB of available Hard Disk space, for the application and sample projects.

A 30-day trial version of Apple's Aperture is available for free download HERE. You can visit the same address to update your version of Aperture. You can also choose to update Aperture through the Apple Software Update (Apple Menu > Software Update).

NOTE: There could be more updates available for your computer, aside the Aperture 2.1.1 update, listed by the software updater. To only update Aperture, simply tick the box in front of the update title and hit install.
