Aperture has recently been updated for stability, it is recommended that you update as 2.0.1 also addresses issues related to performance, while fixing a number of other issues.

"Aperture 2.0.1 addresses issues related to performance and overall
stability. It also fixes a number of other minor issues. This update is recommended for all Aperture users," says Apple.

The Aperture update is available via Software Update - just click the Apple button above and to the left side of your screen and it'll be revealed (simply follow the steps), or at the Aperture Download page. The latter can only be used to update "full versions of Aperture" and cannot be used to update Aperture Trial software, which by the way, you can download right here and have a go with.

However, the trial version of Aperture 2 has also been updated to 2.0.1. If you've already started your trial, you can simply download the new trial version and continue using it. The 30-day period of the trial will continue from the original date of first usage.

"Many of the most respected photographers on assignment all over the world trust Aperture to organize, edit and deliver their images," said Rob Schoeben, Apple's vice president of Applications Product Marketing, at the time Aperture 2 was released. "With its simpler interface and lower price, anyone can take full advantage of Aperture's power."

Aperture's UI is quite different from most OS X applications. Small font sizes and narrow scrollbars were commonly criticized, at the time Apple launched the app designed to assist professional photographers in post-production work, in November 2005. Aperture 2 should appeal photographers, who can now post their portfolios directly on the Mac Web Gallery for viewing on the web, iPhone, iPod touch and Apple TV.

Aperture 2 is now available for $199 for anyone looking to organize, edit and publish photos like a pro, while previous owners of Aperture will be charged only $99 for the upgrade. There's also the option to download and try out Aperture 2 for free. The 30-day trial version is available right HERE.
