Apache Tomcat, an open source software implementation of the Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages technologies, developed under the Java Community Process, is now at version 8.0.0 RC10.

A new development build of the popular Apache solution has been released with a few changes and improvements. Highlights of Apache Tomcat 8.0.0 RC10:

• Support has been added for Java Servlet 3.1, JavaServer Pages 2.3, Java Unified Expression Language 3.0, and Java WebSocket 1.0; • The default connector implementation is now the Java non-blocking implementation (NIO) for both HTTP and AJP; • A new resources implementation that replaces Aliases, VirtualLoader, VirtualDirContext, JAR resources, and external repositories with a single, consistent approach for configuring additional web application resources has been implemented.

A complete list of changes, fixes, and new features can be found in the official changelog. Download Apache Tomcat 8.0.0 RC10 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
