Kind of hard to pull it off when you're so much longer than you are wide

Apacer has just launched the AH333 Perfect Partner flash drive, which the company made a point to describe as employing a “pebble-like rounded contour.”

Whether or not the shape really reminds you of pebbles depends on how many pebbles you have seen in your life and how many of those were actually long and flat enough to resemble this new storage device.

I'm betting not many, but I digress. Apacer did say the goal was to enable a “perfectly firm and comfortable hold,” so as long as that goal was achieved, I should be pacified.

In fact, Apacer says owners should be tempted to play around with the new flash drive, to twist and turn it between their fingers to pass the time.

Anyway, the newcomer has a capacity of up to 64 GB (4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB) and support for the ACE compression software, which supposedly expands capacity by 500% by making files take up less space.

In reality, files like video and music won't compress that much, films especially, so don't get your hopes up. It's all just marketing.

Then again, it's not like every other flash drive is any better at selling itself, except for rare wonders like MS-ES Ultra Flash, which offset the 210 MB/s super performance with a high price.

Speaking of which, the price of the Apacer AH333 has, unfortunately, not been published yet. You'll have to wait for retailers to list it. Since it's just a USB 2.0 instead of 3.0 drive, it should be small.
