Smartphones, tablets, PCs, HD games, audio-visual media and everything else that uses small memory cards can now take advantage of Apacer's latest invention.

The company describes the Ultra High Speed microSD memory card as the fastest in the world.

Such claims have been made before, but the specs of the item definitely give credence in this particular case.

After all, not often does a microSDXC card appear that has transmission speeds of up to 30 MB/s and random read/write speed of 500/100 IOPS.

That isn't even the maximum achievable by the UHS-1 (Ultra-High Speed Bus 1), which can deliver transmission speeds up to 50MB/s and has a random read/write speed of up to 500/100 IOPs.

The capacity of the card is 64 GB, which is more than what many flash drives and even some solid state drives can brag about.

Also, Apacer designed the newcomer with compatibility for not only the aforementioned UHS-1 interface, but also the SDA 3.0 memory card standard.

Needless to say, backwards compatibility with SD 2.0 UHS-I bus was not forgotten.

“With the popularity of smartphones and rapid growth of tablet PCs, high definition and 3D digital audio-visual contents have become the world’s mainstream trend of entertainment, and transfer speed and storage capacity of memory cards will therefore be the key to enjoying the real HD experience” said Grace Lo, associated vice president of Apacer Commodity Business Unit.

“The latest standard Apacer Ultra High Speed microSD memory card is available in a range of capacities, from 8GB to 64GB, providing users with the impeccable, uncompressed high-definition audio-visual experience. Boosting fast transfer speed and huge storage capacity, it is ideal for either current or future mobile devices.”

The price of the card has not been given, but it definitely will not be easily accessible to consumers below the high-end market.
