As notebooks are becoming the computing solution of choice for an increasing number of users, manufacturers around the world struggle to come up with all sorts of gimmicks that should make their products a lot more appealing to a wider range of customers. And a very good example of this trend is the latest release from the Korean company Hasee-Anynote, namely the AL5600G notebook, a device that packs quite a lot of computing power, but also a little surprise on the side: a built-in subwoofer.

According to the company's statement, the new notebook targets both avid gamers and portable multimedia consumers. This is the reason why the AL5600G packs the aforementioned subwoofer, meant to compliment the notebook's built-in speakers. Of course, the end-result is rather questionable, as it's nearly impossible to cram a high-quality woofer into the relatively slim body of a notebook, but at least it's a start, and the audio experience is most likely superior to that offered by normal notebooks.

Beside this extra-feature, the device offers an average level of performance. Thus, it has just a 15.4-inch WXGA Superfine LCD display (although the standard has gone up to 17 inches these days), and is powered by an Intel Core2Duo T7300 Santa Rosa processor (2.0Ghz/4MB L2Cache/FSB 800MHz). It also sports a nVidia 256MB GeForce 8600M GS graphics card, 2 GB of DDR2 RAM, as well as an extra-1 GB of Turbo Memory cache that helps improve the overall loading times.

The AL5600G offers 120 GB of storage space provided by a S-ATA HDD, and also sports a DVD-SuperMulti optic unit. Moreover, it includes just about all the connectivity options you might expect from a portable computing system, including an 802.11n Wi-Fi adapter, Ethernet adapter, 4-in-1 card reader, DVI, S-Video, ExpressCard slot, etc.

Anynote has announced that the AL5600G will be available in late June, for around 1350 US dollars. However, the manufacturer is not going to retail it directly outside Korea, but, hopefully, some of the major retailers around the world will help us with that.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
