These past weeks, everything was about Antonella Barba. The media went head over heels with this 20-year-old girl from New Jersey, while the Internet has turned her into the queen of all search engines for the month of March. All with good reason, of course, because we have to admit that the woman has the body of a young (and a bit rougher) Cindy Crawford. Yes, that almost makes us forget that, each time she opens her mouth to sing, she is that close to shredding our ears with her off-key vocals.

Well, that was obviously an exaggeration: Antonella is not that bad and, if we were to compare her with other so-called pop stars, we realize that she could easily do a much better job than any of them. But, as far as 'American Idol' is concerned, she doesn't cut it - Miss Barba is only a mediocre singer and many are those who claim that she made it for so long on the show because of the publicity she got and because those who have seen her racy photos on the Internet voted for her.

And now we get to the point of most interest for us: now that she's finally off the show and out the 'Idol' camp, Antonella can speak about the already mentioned. Questions like who took them?, who leaked them?, what will she do now?, is she going to pose for 'Playboy' or will she take up the offer from 'Girls Gone Wild'?, have already been answered by the woman herself.

Until yesterday, all we had were just speculations, because Antonella (while on the 'Idol' camp) was not allowed to talk to the media and, since her axing on Friday, she refused to give interviews. But the silence has finally been broken and, be warned, this is not quite what you might expect: Antonella says she still wants to make a career in singing or acting (as the second alternative) and that posing for 'Playboy' is completely out of the question. On the other hand, she wouldn't say no to becoming a model for some well-known agency, because 'I'd rather promote myself in a classy way', she says...

Miss Barba also plans to stay in L.A. for a couple weeks more, to see what chance has to offer in terms of a career in showbiz. 'Yes, it's true that my name is more well-known [because of the racy pics] but I'm not known for the things I want to be known for right now. I want to be known for my singing, not in any other way. That's not the way I want to promote myself.', she gives as reason for her obstinacy not to go down the 'Playboy' path. 'I want to strike the iron while it's hot', she adds.

Seeing the high level of popularity she reached because of those photos, an offer might come along any minute now for the wannabe 'Idol', although it might turn out to be not in the direction she wants. While 'Playboy' has already been ruled out, the question of Antonella starring in a 'Girls Gone Wild' special is still pending...
