The leaked data can be used to access Cricket's systems

During the holiday season AntiSec hackers have been keeping themselves busy breaching all sorts of high-profile websites. Their latest successful operation left the administrators and the employees of Cricket Wireless exposed.

Usernames and passwords allegedly used by employees and administrators to log into Cricket Wireless’ systems were leaked online yesterday.

A total of 1,700 sets of credentials from staffers of the telecoms company that has close to 6 million customers were posted in a Pastebin document, all of them in clear text.

The usernames and passwords are utilized on a third-party website so it’s unclear if the carrier itself was hacked or if the sensitive data was stored someplace else.

Hopefully, Cricket will resolve the situation, otherwise a lot of wannabe hackers can take advantage of the incident to take a look around.
