Interesting idea of the Philippine National Police officials

If you didn't believe me when I first said that YouTube is more and more used with another goal than that of sharing ordinary videos with other users, read this. The Philippine National Police officials decided to create a 5-minute film and to upload it on YouTube in order to show the local residents the consequences of dealing with drugs. Obviously, the video is intended to attract the interest of the young people but it can be accessed by anyone through the official page of the online video sharing service. As you expect, the actors of the movie were local policemen and volunteer students, ABS CBN News reports.

What's more interesting is that Police Superintendent Harris Fama said that the authorities managed to make the movie without any money coming from the government but it recorded an impressive audience since it was officially rolled out. The recordings required approximately 7 hours but it was worth it as the officials sustain because most of the viewers are more opened to the message than to any other anti-drug campaign.

"Past lectures on illegal drugs didn't stir much interest, and even left many in the audience sleepy. But their attention was different when the film was presented to them. There was no dull moment," Harris Fama said according to ABS CBN Interactive.

Moreover, it seems like the clip is now used with educational purposes because the police officer sent it to 268 FBI students who can analyze it and improve their techniques.

I told you that YouTube is not an ordinary video sharing platform... Since it was acquired by the Mountain View super giant Google, YouTube grew up a lot from hosting common videos uploaded by the users to rescuing people's lives and make them famous among the Internet users.
