Presented for the first time over at IFA 2010, Antec's rockus 3D | 2.1 speaker system is ready to come to market, the company just announcing the US availability of this 3D-enabled audio offering that is supposed to deliver the benefits of surround sound for a 2.1 speaker system.

Going this route means that you won't have to lay all sorts of cables around the house or worry about speaker placement, Antec's 3Dsst technology taking care of analyzing the incoming stereo audio signals and intelligently placing them into a 3D sound field.

The resulting sound should be pretty similar to that offered by surround speaker systems, well suited for movies and music playback

The soundscience rockus 3D |2.1 speaker system’s satellites are made entirely from anodized aluminum which should reduce enclosure vibration while its subwoofer utilizes passive radiator technology to deliver an expansive range of bass.
