Antec has announced earlier today the addition of three new mid-range power supply units featuring a modular design and 80PLUS Bronze certification, that will be released into the company’s High Current Gamer M series.

The new PSU series includes three models with a power output ranging from 400 to 620 Watts, which can deliver between 30A and 48A of current via a single 12V rail.

As far as the available connectors are concerned, all the units feature at least five SATA power plugs, four MOLEX plugs, as well as a pair of 6+2-pin PCI Express connectors.

Antec’s latest power supplies are kept cool under heavy usage with a large temperature and load-controlled 135mm double ball-bearing fan.

All the power supplies are certified by the 80PLUS organization to deliver an 85% energy efficiency at 50% load (which equals with a Bronze label), and also comply with the ErP (Energy Related product) directive to ensure less than 1W of power is used in passive standby and off modes.

"Antec has succeeded with providing consumers with quiet and efficient power supplies to choose from," said Mafalda Cogliani, global marketing director at Antec.

"And now we want to provide the same type of power and convenience via hybrid modularity power supply that will help with energy reduction," concluded the company’s rep.

According to Antec, the HCG-M PSU series will be available in the US on Newegg, ASI, Ma Labs, Amazon, J&R and Buy.com and in Canada on NCIX and Canada Computers in early February.

Pricing will start at $89.95 (68 EUR) for the 400 Watt model, while the 520 and 620 Watt models will retail for $99.95 and $119.95 (76 and 91 EUR), respectively, which is a bit too much if you ask us.
