It's about the building blocks of clones

There's another Star Wars game soon coming to our PC and gaming consoles, and while Star Wars The Force Unleashed II has already been unveiled, some of you might hope this is about a sequel for Republic Commando or even, maybe, just maybe, Battlefront III. Unfortunately, reality is somewhat more colorful, but not necessarily in the good way. Traveller's Tales has announced that it's working on another Lego Star Wars game, this one being the number 3 one, The Clone Wars. Based on the Cartoon Network animated series, the game is being developed for the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii and Nintendo DS and is expected to arrive somewhere during the fall.

As far as the cast goes, TT promised that we would get to see characters from the first season of the show, as well as from the second, while some of the movie characters would also make an appearance. Other additions to the game include an enhanced level builder, new attacks and abilities as well as the introduction of the Jedi and Separatist factions.

In the official press release, Tom Stone, the director Traveller's Tales said that "LucasArts is an amazing partner, and working with them on the next iteration of the Lego Star Wars continues to be a great experience. The team at TT is working hard at making this simply the best Lego game ever with all new gameplay and features never before seen in a Lego game."

The company has an extensive experience with cartoon based games, as well as with Star Wars and Lego titles, but if its previous SW Lego games use the traditional Lego figures as base models for the in-game characters, this time around it looks like they'll take more of an inspiration from the cartoon design, and less from the actual Lego figurines.
