Another Portable iPod Shuffle Speaker, This Time - A Nice One: Corega CG-IPSPDC02

- Please find a cute name for it!

By: Florin Tibu, Audio Editor

Just because I don't rant that much about the iPods it doesn't mean I've finally bought one or fell in love with them; they just are a part of today's world and I will never change that, for a fact. In fact I've never really hated the 1GB Shuffle, with its tiny shape, (pretty sound) and rounded design and even the bright happy colors.
Among so many producers which are doing their best to create neat portable speakers for the iPod family, here come Corega Japan...personally I have never heard of them until today but now I'm glad I did...because of THEIR portable loudspeakers for the iPod family, that is. Well, the CG-IPSPDC02 (s**t man, that's not a name, for crying out loud!) is truly one of the portable docking stations that really goes with the Shuffle. Indeed we can't actually talk about an innovative design as far as the CG-IPSPDC02 is concerned – Corega have just taken the generic shape of the Shuffle and replicated it at a slightly larger scale and there you have it!

Even so, the CG-IPSPDC02 (promise me to find a nice name for it, now!) is one set of speakers that fits both the dimensions of the iPod Shuffle, its colors and once more it comes in perfect unity with its shape. Its anti magnetic tiny speakers can "blast " 0.5W on each channel in a 200-16,000Hz range and sports a signal to noise ratio of 70dB, thus being able to deliver a pretty neat and clear sound.

It can be powered up via USB or using two AAA batteries; no word on battery life yet but I guess it's TBA. The CG-IPSPDC02 (you promised, remember?) will be available in Japan starting late July for around $30.
