Another PS3 Firmware Update Released

I don't know if you have recently tried to play the multiplayer mode of Resistance: Fall of Man, but others have. Brian Ashcraft of Kotaku
decided to kill some time and tried to play the mentioned game, but he couldn't.

Apparently, once he fired up the game, he received a message on his HDTV that a system update was required. The embedded firmware update is Version 1.30 and according to him, "it irons out old TVs with 1080i". I can't tell you anymore about this because I don't have a PS3 yet, and I'll be damned if buy one on eBay (porno auctions and everything). I think that a simple gaming console - even if it is a next-gen - shouldn't cost US$ 2,500. You could feed a whole Somalian village with this kind of cash. What if I bought a PS3 and sent it to some Somalians?

Leaving bad humor aside, this might turn out to be good news for those who own a PS3. No official statement was released on this firmware update, but be sure that we will keep you posted once we have more information. Brian Ascraft also mentions that this could be some kind of PS3 "after-service", but - for the sake of all HDTV and PS3 owners out there - I hope that this firmware update fixes the 420p downsizing issue.
