Singer Amy Lee just announced on the official homepage that another member left the sensation rock group. 'A few weeks ago, Will decided to leave the band. He said that he can't go through with another huge tour right now, and wants to stay a little closer to his family instead'.
Amy anticipated the fans' reactions and said that there was no previous argument that might have lead to Boyd's departure and that Evanescence will always love and respect him. She also clarified the issue of replacing him with another guitarist.
Lee and Boyd had been playing together ever since high school so, she says, she misses him already. But the band's upcoming album 'The Open Door' (available in stores from October 3rd) and the following tour will not be affected by Will's sudden and unexpected decision.
This is the second time in only a few years when Evanescence comes short of one member. In 2003, Ben Moody, one of the founders of the band, lead guitarist and principal songwritter, also parted ways with his former friends, leaving them almost stranded in the middle of their European tour. He was replaced by Terry Balsamo, who was made an official member of Evanescence in 2004.
