At this rate, chances are there will be more Kardashian-centered reality shows in almost no time: the latest spinoff, “Khloe & Lamar,” debuted the other night and, as per ongoing reports, fared wonderfully with the audience.
The Kardashian claim
they work 25 hours a day, but, given the success they enjoy, no one can blame or doubt them anymore.
After various reality shows with her sisters Kim and Kourtney, it’s now Khloe’s turn to shine in the spotlight: she got a series solely about her relationship with new hubby Lamar Odom, whom she married after just one month of dating.
And, if ratings continue to be just as good as for the season premiere, she stands good chances of stealing Kim’s thunder in terms of levels of popularity.
“The series premiere of Khloe & Lamar on E! Sunday drew almost 2.6 million total viewers and earned a 1.93 household rating,”
Broadcasting Cable reports.
“The series, which stars Khloe Kardashian and her L.A. Lakers husband Lamar Odom, posted a 3.52 rating with women 18-34,” says the same source.
Of course, it was to be expected that the target audience for this series too be young women. After all, the Kardashians do promote an image of themselves as role models who offer guidance on a wide array of topics to the young fashionista.
Khloe even came close to matching the achievement of her sisters in terms of TV ratings, the aforementioned publication also notes.
“Compared to other Kardashians spinoff premieres, Khloe & Lamar fell short of the recent Kourtney & Kim Take New York opener, which earned a record 3 million total viewers,” Broadcasting Cable says.
“It was about on par with the first and second season debuts of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, which drew 2.7 million and 2.6 million watchers, respectively,” the e-zine adds.
The first episode of the series, as we
also noted the other day, detailed Lamar’s strained relationship with his addict father and Khloe’s attempts at getting the two together, not knowing their history.
